2025-2026 Leaders in Teaching and Learning
We’re pleased to welcome the second cohort of Leaders in Teaching and Learning to the Center.
The Leaders in Teaching and Learning program develops faculty leaders to foster effective teaching within disciplinary units across campus. Selected faculty serve a one year term and meet regularly throughout the academic year for professional development, community, and mentorship. “I was excited by the passion each leader brought to the discussions at our first professional development meeting,” said Carol Subiño Sullivan, who heads the program. “I can’t wait to see the teaching and mentoring impact they’ll have in their disciplines.”
During their time in the program, Leaders engage in professional development sessions, contribute to a teaching and learning initiative, interview a leader of teaching and learning in their own discipline, craft a leadership vision statement, and develop a short term action plan.
Katherine Samford, director of the Language Institute, plans to center her action plan around the intersection of technology and English language learning. “I’m eager to explore how technology and AI can make hybrid English language learning more personal and engaging, and to grow through collaboration with colleagues who share a passion for advancing teaching and learning at Georgia Tech.”
Leaders also receive funding to attend the University System of Georgia Teaching and Learning Conference; last year, several Leaders presented their work at the conference.
