Call for Proposals: 2025 Innovation Incubator Grants

The third round of the Transformative Teaching and Learning (TTL) Innovation Incubator grants is now open. Administered by the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Office of Community-Based Learning, this grant program is a key initiative in support of Georgia Tech’s Big Bet #1:

The Innovation Incubator grants promote high-impact teaching practices at Georgia Tech. This round focuses on community-based learning, a pedagogical approach that bridges classroom learning with meaningful community engagement. In addition to enriching students’ academic and civic growth, community-based learning has been shown to deepen understanding, foster collaboration, and promote problem-solving skills. 

Attendees at the 2025 GTREET.This year’s grant cycle was officially launched at the Georgia Tech Retreat Exploring Effective Teaching (GTREET) on January 24, 2025. Prior grant winners showcased their innovative projects incorporating course-based undergraduate research experiences in the classroom, highlighting the transformative impact on students. To date, well over 1,000 students have been positively impacted by the Innovation Incubator grants. GTREET attendees also had the chance to explore community-based learning principles, sparking new ideas for transformative Attendees at GTREET 2025.teaching. 

Faculty selected for the 2025 grants will receive up to $12,000 in funding and support for the design, implementation, and evaluation of courses that integrate classroom instruction with active engagement in the local community.

    • Thursday, February 6 from 11:00 a.m. to noon (virtual)
    • Monday, February 10 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. (virtual)
  • Proposal Deadline: March 3, 2025
  • Award Announcements: March 17, 2025
  • Courses Delivered: Fall 2025 or Spring 2026

Proposals should outline a detailed plan for a community-based learning course, including learning outcomes, community partnerships, and strategies for assessing impact. Priority will be given to faculty who participated in GTREET, a grant preparation workshop, and/or follow-up consultations.
